Julep Red Marker Sale 2014
Today, Julep is holding an online Red Marker Sale, which seems to be the new name for their Warehouse Sale. You can RSVP to the event on Facebook, where they have been posting updates. The sale is scheduled to start at 9 am PST/12 pm EST.
Lucky us, though - it seems the sale is already open! But hurry, because things are already selling out! It's possible they might add more items at the scheduled start time, but there are lots of good deals available right now. If you're going to spend more than $50 today, don't forget to add their Red Marker Mystery Gift to your cart and use code REDMARKER - you'll get the mystery gift for free!
The sale is split into three categories: $4 and over, $2 deals, and $1 steals.
Here are some of my favorite items from each section.

Brand Spotlight: Triple Seven Polish
Hi Readers!
First of all, congratulations on making it through Monday. We're one day closer to the weekend!
Today I wanted to tell you about an exciting new brand emerging on the indie polish scene. While I took these photos in the fall, I wanted to take a moment to share them now that the brand is gaining momentum. Tahlia approached me last year to see if I would like her to create a custom polish so I could try Triple Seven Polish, her new 5-free, hand-mixed line. I shared some colors and finishes I like, but I gave her creative license to come up with something for me.
Once I saw the finished product, I was able to give this little pretty a name. Anyone who knows me well will tell you that I love Jane Austen, and especially "Pride and Prejudice." It seemed fitting to give such a fun, vibrant polish a charming name from my favorite novel. I ended up choosing the line, "I dearly love a laugh."

#ManiMonday: Peacock Blues
Happy Mani Monday, everyone!
I just wanted to share a few quick snaps of my Monday mani - bright blue with a peacock feather accent! Take that, Monday blues!
The following is a quick little tutorial for how you can create a peacock feather mani of your own.
I started with Julep's new Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat that came in my June Maven box. So far I am liking it, though the jury's still out in terms of long-term effects to my nails. I painted my ring fingers with Julep Jet and the rest of my digits with Julep Ally, one of my old favorites! It's the perfect shade of bright, shimmery, frosty blue.

National Donut Day: Sprinkle Donut Mani Tutorial
So, who else here loves donuts?! If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you've probably noticed that donuts are one of my favorite treats. There's just something about them! Ever since I was a little girl, I have been a big fan of the strawberry-frosted donuts - with rainbow sprinkles, of course.
Last year, kate spade collaborated with Darcel to put out a fun line inspired by NYC, including cute food items. One of featured treats was a glorious pink sprinkled donut. I may have gone a little [do]nuts trying everything on in the store... here's the evidence.

When I realized National Donut Day was this week, I decided I had to honor my favorite colorful breakfast sweet on my nails. I chose to design a sprinkled mani with a mini donut accent nail. I created this look using nine different Julep polishes as well as their Plié Wand Nail Polishing System, which includes the Plié Wand, dotting tool, and striping brush.

Julep Blog Guest Post: Citrus Half-Moon
Bonus post!
I am so excited to share that I recently had an opportunity to guest blog for Julep, one of my favorite beauty companies. I created a summery citrus half-moon mani for them using their new Plié Wand and Creativity Kit, and my tutorial was posted in the DIY section of the Julep blog.

You can check out all the photos and get step-by-step instructions for how to create this look here!
As always, I'd love to see your personal take on this mani. Share your pictures on Instagram or Twitter using #PolishMeFab and tag me using @iamkrisredmond - I look forward to seeing your fruit-slice digits this summer!

Catching Up: Goodbye, May!
Hello, Polish-Loving Internet Perusers!
Can you believe it's already June 1st? May seemed to fly by! My hubby and I moved to a new apartment last weekend, so we have been busy little bees with limited access to the Internet. We are getting our FIOS set up on Tuesday, though - yay!
Trying to blog from work or my cell phone is not ideal, so I decided to do a quick catch-up post now to show you what has been going on in my ManiLand over the last week.
Those of us in the U.S. celebrated Memorial Day on Monday. I was busy moving most of the weekend, but I did a quick holiday-themed mani before we left for a BBQ at our friends' house. I layered Julep Fireworks (not currently available for sale) over Julep Char for an easy, festive look!

My polishes paired nicely with my Dream Weaver! Blouse: Old Navy (old; similar here, here, here, and here). |
